Jack Nicklaus on Hard Work and Confidence

Jack Nicklaus on Hard Work and Confidence

"Confidence is the most important single factor in this game, and no matter how great your natural talent, there is only one way to obtain and sustain it: work." -Jack Nicklaus

Jack's quote applies to both your golf game and to life. Often the results we get out of life and golf are a direct result of the sweat we put in.

Follow these tips to evaluate how you can adjust your daily approach to reach your life and golf goals:

  1. Prioritize Your Goals in Life: Many of us try to take on too much in life. Between family, friends, hobbies and work, it can hard to be the best at everything. Document your goals in life and prioritize them based on how important they are to you.
  2. Create a Weekly and Daily Agenda: Write out your typical weekly agenda to see what need to be rejiggered to ensure you are putting in your best effort to be successful in reaching your goals. What needs to be cut out? What needs to have more time dedicated to it?
  3. Accept the Occasional Distraction: Once you have your plan, stick to it the best you can but also understand that you are going to have the occasional distraction. You might have to help out a family member in need or take an unexpected work trip. That said, do not accept excuses in working towards your goals!

It's your life. Get to work!
