How To Set a junior golfer up for success on and off the course

Golf is more about the journey than the destination. A junior golfing journey should be fun and help set a framework for success later in life both on and off the course.

Building a confident golf and life mindset starts early - Earl Woods famously asked Tiger to explain what he was thinking about ahead of hitting a shot.

Make sure a junior golfer has the proper clubs. The most important thing is that they are proportional to their body to help them develop the right technique.

Building form is important for a junior player but do not over do it - have a swing coach give them short lessons on all aspects of the golf game as needed to develop skills.

Keep practicing and playing fun by establishing challenges, competitions and milestones for a junior player to reach.

For talented junior players, it is important to challenge them with bigger tournaments. However, make sure a junior player has won consistently at their current level to build a winning mindset.
The Under Par coaching team will develop a practice plan to help guide a junior player shoot lower scores, learn new technical skills and enjoy practicing with fun challenges.
The practice plan will also help build a positive mindset that will help a junior on and off the course.
Hard work pays off. The Under Par coaches will develop the practice plan, you put in the work to help achieve your golfing goals.
"It's not the destination, it's the journey"
“Those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late and you work hard, those times when you don’t feel like working, you’re too tired, you don’t want to push yourself but you do it anyway: That is actually the dream.
It’s not the destination, it’s the journey. And if you guys can understand that, then what you’ll see happen is that you won’t accomplish your dreams. Your dreams won’t come true, something greater will.
And if you guys can understand that, then I’m doing my job as a father.”

"results come from hard work and focus"
"Corey has learned that results come from hard work and focus by following the Under Par break 80 plan. The plan has helped improve all areas of the game and led to lower scores. More importantly, the discipline and accountability that has been developed has shown in other areas of life beyond golf too."
Corey (14 years old, 13 handicap)
